Rules & Procedure

On this page, we have compiled an excerpt of rules and procedures at Aabenraa Havn.

Most are described in the terms of business, which you can find in Danish and English below.

Captain's Declaration

In order for ships to be considered as being in foreign trade and to be exempt from VAT in accordance with the VAT Act, a completed "Declaration of ship in foreign trade" signed by the ship's master must be submitted for each call.

This declaration must be sent to security@aabenraahavn dk and applies to calls to Aabenraa Havn.

ISPS

Aabenraa Havn complies with the International Maritime Organization's requirements for the security of port facilities, called ISPS.

The main element in securing international ports is to ensure that ships have been in a secured port facility in connection with their onward journey.

Access to the port's facilities is controlled by means of fences, gates and video surveillance. Only persons with valid ID cards or registered guests may be present at the secured facilities at Aabenraa Havn. Registration takes place at the port office.

Noise and Dust at the Port

Large quantities of goods are handled daily at Aabenraa Havn, and there is activity with ships, loading, unloading and transport. This means that noise and dust may occur in connection with the work.

We know that this can be felt in the surroundings – and we do what we can to limit the inconvenience. At the same time, the port is a commercial and industrial area where there will naturally be activity around the clock. We organise calls and port work in a way that causes the least possible inconvenience to neighbours and the local community.

Rules for Noise in Commercial and Industrial Areas

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency sets indicative limit values for how much noise companies and ports may make.
A limit value applies to commercial and industrial areas:

Area Time Limit value
Commercial and industrial area Around the clock (24/7) 70 dB(A)

This means that Aabenraa Havn may legally have a noise level of up to 70 dB(A) measured outdoors at the boundaries of the areas – both day, evening and night.
