Privacy Policy – Access Control and Video Surveillance

As part of Aabenraa Port's access control and video surveillance, personal data about persons moving within the area is collected, processed and stored. This applies to both persons with permanent access to the area, including persons employed by the port's tenants or other business partners, and persons who occasionally gain access.

Aabenraa Port is the data controller for these processing activities.

Access Control:

Persons with permanent access to the port are issued a personal access card. The following personal data is stored in connection with the issuance of access cards: name, possible photo and company name. Additionally, arrival and departure times will be continuously logged.

Persons with occasional access to the port, who are not issued personal access cards, are recorded with name, company name, possible mobile number, arrival and departure time.

Access control is necessary to ensure that only persons with legitimate business at the port can gain access.

Video Surveillance:

In connection with the port's video surveillance, recordings of persons' behavior and movement may occur. All recordings are stored for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted, unless there is a factual basis for storing them longer. Recordings are reviewed in case of accidents and upon concrete suspicion of illegal or disloyal behavior.

Video surveillance is necessary to comply with ISPS requirements for port security.

The legal basis for the above processing activities is found in Article 6, paragraph 1, letters c, d or e of the General Data Protection Regulation.

Your Rights

In order to create transparency around the processing of your information, we as data controller must inform you about your rights.

The Right of Access

You are at any time entitled to request information from us about, among other things, what information we have registered about you, what purpose the registration serves, what categories of personal data and recipients of information there may be, as well as information about where the information originates from.

If you wish to request access to CCTV surveillance material, please specify when and where you were present at the port. You may be asked to document that you are who you claim to be.

The Right to Rectification

You have the right to have incorrect personal data about yourself corrected by us. Should you become aware that there are errors in the information we have registered about you, you are encouraged to contact us in writing so that the information can be corrected.

Other Rights

In certain cases, you have the right to have all or some of your personal data deleted by us, to restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as data portability and the right to object. It is our view that these rights have very limited relevance in relation to access and CCTV surveillance that is processed and stored as a result of ISPS requirements for port security.

The Right to Complain

You have the right at any time to file a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby regarding our processing of your personal data. Complaints are most easily filed via the complaint form on the Data Protection Agency's website, which you can access here.
